At Yu's Indigo, we accept a limited number of custom and commissioned projects each year.

Whether you are seeking a one-of-a-kind textile artwork, custom indigo-dyed fabric, a meaningful gift, or a collaborative project for your home, business, exhibition, or event, each piece is created slowly and thoughtfully by hand.

Rooted in traditional textile practices and guided by contemporary making, our work draws from techniques including indigo dyeing, batik, shibori, sashiko, and xing hu ran. Every commission is unique and developed specifically for the individual project.

The Commission Process

Initial Inquiry

Share your project idea, intended use, dimensions, timeline, and any inspiration or references.

Proposal & Design

We will discuss materials, techniques, scope, and pricing before developing a proposal.

Creation

Once approved, your piece is created by hand using traditional textile techniques.

Completion & Delivery

Finished work can be shipped or arranged for pickup, depending on the project.
