About Yu's Indigo

Yu’s Indigo is a New York–based indigo dye studio dedicated to preserving and reinterpreting traditional East Asian textile practices through a contemporary lens. Rooted in slow craft and material awareness, the studio focuses on natural indigo dyeing techniques. Here, we practice four core techniques under the indigo umbrella: Batik, Shibori, Xing Hu Ran, and Sashiko.

At its core, Yu’s Indigo is about storytelling—bridging past and present, and translating traditional craft into a modern lifestyle. Together, the indigo textiles and curated goods form a cohesive collection that celebrates craft, culture, and time. Yu’s Indigo is not only a brand, but an evolving practice—one that honors tradition while creating space for new interpretations, and encourages a more mindful and intentional way of living.
